Az Állatok farsangjának motívumai mindannyiunk fülében ott csengenek, a darab mégis minden alkalommal meg tud lepni kifinomult szellemességével. Saint-Saëns zeneművét ezúttal Rameau, Bartók és Rimszkij-Korszakov a műsorba jól illeszkedő tematikájú műveivel egészítettük ki.

A zenei meglepetések azonban nem kevésbé fricskás irodalmi élménnyel gazdagodnak, hiszen a tételek előtt Lackfi János olvassa fel a darabhoz írt verseit a mű főszereplőiről, azaz tyúkokról, hattyúkról, öszvérekről – vagy éppen zongoristákról.
A Budafoki Dohnányi Zenekartól megszokott magasfokú interpretáció mellett Balázs János Kossuth-díjas zongoraművész lenyűgöző játékában is gyönyörködhetünk.
