A ZENE Világnapja Liszt / Bartók ( Concerto Budapest)
Habár címében csupán egy vall erre a tényre, valójában három Liszt-zongoraversenyt ígér ez a koncert, méghozzá egyként az 1850-es évekből, Liszt weimari korszakából. A Magyar fantázia pesti ősbemutatóján Liszt tanítványa és első veje, Hans von Bülow játszotta a szólót, s ő játszotta elsőként a – Dies irae gregorián dallamát felhasználó – Haláltáncot is, immár Hágában. more

Az Esz-dúr zongoraversenyt ellenben maga a zongora páratlan fejedelme, Liszt mutatta be Weimarban, nem kisebb muzsikus, mint Hector Berlioz vezénylete mellett.
Keller András ezen a koncerten három kiváló fiatal zongoristát invitál a pódiumra, hogy eljátsszák e Liszt-versenyművek szólóit. A harmincas éveiben járó, s immár fesztiválszervezőként is tisztelt Balázs János mellett a 29 esztendős Palojtay János és a 19. születésnapja előtt álló Berecz Mihály bizonyítja majd a Liszttől eredeztethető magyar zongoraiskola vitalitását.
A koncertet a hazára visszagondoló pillanatokban és sötét, halálközeli víziókban egyaránt ugyancsak gazdag kései Bartók-remek, a Concerto zárja majd.

As it is a latent Kodály season, it seems only fitting that the concert at the OPERA honouring the events of 1956 should feature works by the composer. In that same year, the short-lived Revolutionary Council of Hungarian Intellectuals elected him as its president. Throughout his entire oeuvre, Kodály consistently reinforced Hungarian national identity. The programme gains both colour and a ceremonial character from the hymn-like and dance-infused compositions of his middle and later years.
