Egyszer volt, hol nem volt,
valamikor réges-régen,
mikor még a patak is visszafelé futott,
Hetedhét Országon is túl,
még az Óperenciás-tengeren is túl,
de még az Üveghegyeken is túl,
ott, ahol a világnak már majdnem vége van,
volt egy tündér.
De nem is csak volt ám, hanem még van is,
hiszen itt ül ezen a széken.
Éppen tegnapelőtt múltam el háromezer éves.
És bizony réges-régen elmúltak már azok a
bánatos napok is,
amikor tündér-testvéreim még úgy csúfoltak engem,
hogy a „Pirinyó Minyó”,
és bizony réges-régen elmúlt már az a szép sötét éjszaka is,
amikor tündéranyám egy mesét mondott,
és tündér-nevet adott nekem,
és az lettem, aki ma is vagyok:
a Sötétben Látó Tündér.

For the 14th time, the performance of the famous Symphony No. 9 will dominate the OPERA’s New Year celebrations. In 2027, the programme will be completed by two further classical works: Beethoven’s overture, also enhanced by Mahler, and a cello concerto by Haydn, the latter of course featuring an OPERA soloist.

A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French, Greece and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
