A szerelem a legjobb iskola,
Azzá farag, mik nem voltunk soha.” (Molière)

Molière a vígjátékaival egyszerre tanít és nevettet. A nők iskolájában a komikus hős emberi gyarlósággal teli igyekezetével és elővigyázatosságával sem képes felépíteni a saját ideális világát. A „Sors” elleni harcban alul marad, tragikomikus bukása és önmagát nevetségessé tevő cselekedetei a gúnyos nevetéstől az együtt érző megrendülésig az érzelmek széles skáláját pendítik meg a nézőben, aki a darabban a saját „ritka kert”-építő törekvéseit és azok elvesztése miatti félelmeit is felfedezni véli.

Our offer

As it is a latent Kodály season, it seems only fitting that the concert at the OPERA honouring the events of 1956 should feature works by the composer. In that same year, the short-lived Revolutionary Council of Hungarian Intellectuals elected him as its president. Throughout his entire oeuvre, Kodály consistently reinforced Hungarian national identity. The programme gains both colour and a ceremonial character from the hymn-like and dance-infused compositions of his middle and later years.

Set in the Roman Empire around 74 BC, Spartacus was László Seregi's first true full-length ballet, which at one stroke became a milestone in Hungarian dance life. Since 1968, one generation after another has enjoyed the historically themed choreography, which treats the story of the ancient slave revolt in such a way that its true message is not the rebellion itself, but rather human emotions and choices under pressure.
