A Trapp család története már több generáción keresztül uralja a zenés színpadokat. Magyarországon is kedvelt repertoár darabja színházainknak. A Budapesti Operettszínházban például 18 éven át játszották kétféle feldolgozásban.
Hét gyerek mellé új nevelőnő érkezik, aki a rakoncátlan kölyköket a zene szeretetével és a közös éneklés örömével teljességgel megbabonázza.
Az újra átélt családi harmónia különösen hat az egyébként zord és kemény nevelésre ösztönző családfőre, aki önmaga is megszédül a fiatal nevelőnő jóságától és szépségétől. Csakhogy Mária, a gyerekek új pótmamája apácanövendékként éli hétköznapjait és a hirtelen elé tárult boldogságtól megijedve, visszatér a zárda falai közé. Végül a háború borzalmai elől menekülő család, a nevelőnő által betanított altató dal koncertszerű előadásával jut át a németek által megszállt osztrák határon.

A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team. A century ago, the world first encountered this remarkable opus, a work that soon became one of the cornerstones of twentieth-century musical innovation. Premiered in 1926, the singspiel is a milestone in Hungarian music history: its composer, Zoltán Kodály, fulfilled his aspiration to elevate Hungarian folk song of ancient origin to the same status as classical music, by virtue of its equivalent values, placing it on the stage of the nation’s Opera House.
