There is no greater adherent of Wagner's to be found than Hugo Wolf. He even had the opportunity to meet him, and it was not only for the Ring that he exhibited an undying affection: the immense attraction also extended to the Master's more youthful Romantic operas. And to some degree to Liszt as well, whom he held in high esteem, as he did Bruckner. The composer of more than 300 songs, Wolf wrote only one opera. With our Hungarian premiere of Der Corregidor, an essentially light-hearted work that revels in highly diverse colourings, we will be further enriching our portrait of German composers working in the footsteps of Wagner.

Two giants of Baroque music meet during the Advent season in a performance by the OPERA Orchestra and Chorus. Bach’s well-known Magnificat is performed in its original version, in E-flat major, supplemented with movements specifically tailored to the festive season by the composer himself.
A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
