A Lear az egymást váltó – formálisan különböző, de lényegében azonos – politikai rendszerek drámája. Egy olyan társadalomról ad kegyetlen képet, ahol a hatalom mindig erőszakos, az egyén mindig alávetett, a különböző elvek és érdekek pedig mindig többet érnek az emberi életnél. Bond állítja: a könyörület hiányzik belőlünk, a jelenkor összeegyeztethetetlen az isten-eszménnyel, a Shakespeare-korabeli reneszánsz humanitás és emberi gazdagság pedig eltűnt a modern világból.
A k2 és a 6szín közös előadása arra az ellentmondásos kérdésre keresi a választ, hogy az általunk épített és minket körülvevő védőfalak valóban képesek-e szabaddá tenni bennünket.

As it is a latent Kodály season, it seems only fitting that the concert at the OPERA honouring the events of 1956 should feature works by the composer. In that same year, the short-lived Revolutionary Council of Hungarian Intellectuals elected him as its president. Throughout his entire oeuvre, Kodály consistently reinforced Hungarian national identity. The programme gains both colour and a ceremonial character from the hymn-like and dance-infused compositions of his middle and later years.
There are evenings when our Opera House cannot perform because rehearsals are ongoing on stage until the evening. There are audience members who can only afford to hear their favourite pieces with a discount. And there are works that, although very popular, cannot be staged every season due to the congestion of productions.
A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French, Greece and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
