A clevelandi operházba világhírű olasz tenor érkezik Otello szerepére. Lázban ég miatta a város, zsibong körülötte a színház. Lélekben már az esti bankettre készülnek, ahol kiválóan lehet pezsgőzni és flörtölni, amikor beüt a krach. A nagy Tito Merelli helyére be kell ugrani, és az utolsó pillanatban a lámpalázas Max az egyetlen elérhető tenorista...Két Otello, két szoba, hét ajtó.
