Ide csöppen a Faun, aki a maga tisztaságával, őszinteségével, szeretetével és rafináltságával felforgatja a szereplők életét, felszínre hozza érzelmeiket, a szerelmeseknek megmutatja, hogyan kell kimutatni érzéseiket. Teszi ezt a maga esetlenségével, egyszerűségével, humorral, az angol vígjátéki hagyományoknak megfelelően, akárcsak Oscar Wilde, G. B. Shaw, és Somerset Maugham.
