Az erkölcs és a morál nem létező fogalom. A halál természetes. A birodalom rég túlnőtt mindazokon, akik irányítani próbálják. Egy dilettáns uralkodó és botcsinálta filozófus reménytelen küzdelme a megértésért, a szellemi és fizikai lét között lévő légüres térben lebegve. És a család, amely inkább rabszolgája saját hatalmának, mintsem irányítója. A történetírás mindig a győztesek szemszögéből ábrázol. Ennek a világnak azonban nincsenek győztesei, tehát a darabnak értelemszerűen semmi köze a történelemhez, csupán fikció.
