Az énekkar hosszú évtizedeken keresztül fogta össze az énekelni vágyó fiatalokat, és hamarosan a hazai és nemzetközi zenei élet egyik vezető amatőr énekkarává vált. Fennállásának hat évtizede alatt a kórus megfordult Európa legrangosabb kórusversenyein, ahonnan díjak egész sorát hozta el, elnyerte a Debreceni Bartók Béla Nemzetközi Kórusverseny valamint az Arezzoi Kórusverseny nagydíját, 1989-ben pedig Llangollenben elnyerte a világ kórusa címet. Az énekkar 1996-ban Magyarországot képviselte a Sydney-ben megrendezett Kóruszenei Világszimpóziumon. A 90-es évektől kezdve az együttes oratóriumok avatott előadójává vált, a Budafoki Dohnányi Zenekar bérletsorozatainak rendszeres közreműködője.
A 60. születésnapi koncerten Dvorák: Stabat Materét adják elő, ami Hollerung Gábor által fémjelzett korszak kórustagjainak egyik kedvenc darabja.

This ballet's plot is inspired by The Corsair, a famous verse written in 1814 by Lord Byron, who towered over an entire generation of English Romantic poets.
A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team.
