Három magányos, szeretetre vágyó nő egy nyomasztó atmoszférájú, kopár, szinte lakatlan szigeten. Ebbe a környezetbe érkezik Angelo, a titokzatos idegen, egy életerős férfi, aki puszta jelenlétével felszínre hozza és felkorbácsolja az elfojtott vágyakat, gátlástalanul kihasználva helyzetét, a szenvedés, a hiány által generált lehetőségeket.
