Egy vidéki társulat bemutatóra készül. A bemutatóra várják a Vidéki Színházak Fesztiváljának szervezőit is, akik, ha minden jól megy, meghívhatják az előadást a fővárosba. Mindenki remél valamit ettől a fővárosi bemutatkozástól. Egy zsíros pesti szerződést, kritikai sikert, egy rendezői meghívást egy nagy művészszínházba, egy új közönségréteget vagy extra támogatást.
A társulat éppen túl van egy mondhatni sikeres főpróbán, amikor a levezető italozás után a vezető színésznő, a darab főszereplője meghal. A színházat lezárja a rendőrség. A nyomozás közben a próba nem állhat le, az esti előadást nem lehet lemondani, a gyilkos pedig szabadlábon. Egy művészetellenes nyomozó érkezik a színházba, aki a próbák közben próbálja felgöngyölíteni a gyilkosságot.

Set to a libretto by Barnabás Szöllősi that is based on Andor Szilágyi's fable for the theatre and written at the OPERA's request in the 2014/15 season, Erkel Prize-winning composer Zsófia Tallér's masterful, expressive and entertaining music makes this Hungarian fairy tale opera an enjoyable experience for children and adults alike, and, we hope, a possible future classic.
Two giants of Baroque music meet during the Advent season in a performance by the OPERA Orchestra and Chorus. Bach’s well-known Magnificat is performed in its original version, in E-flat major, supplemented with movements specifically tailored to the festive season by the composer himself.
